It is a pleasure to introduce myself, my name is Katrín María and I’m a 24-year-old graphic design student. Born and raised in Iceland. I moved to Copenhagen in the summer of 2020 after my stay at the Scandinavian Design Folk High School earlier that fall. It was where I first dipped my toes into graphic design and I’ve been hooked ever since. From a very young age, I’ve been very active, always engaged in something and far from all boredom. My hobbies are countless, ranging from drawing, painting, linocut, knitting, and sewing—the list is long.

In my teenage years, I represented Iceland in the national team for Ballroom & Latin dancing, an experience that both shaped my personality and my approach to art and design. It has influenced my creative process, with a sense of movement, rhythm and discipline.

I approach new experiences with an open mind and I am excited to learn new things. What I particularly enjoy about visual communication is the constant exploration of new things and delving into topics I never would have guessed I'd be exploring.
